Summary: Had we known that we should look for Castello di Querceto, this would have been very easy to find! The address on Hotels.com is correct but it made us look for "Serene Apartments".
The ladies in the reception were accommodating and informative.
The apartment is lovely! It is placed next to the reception, 10 minutes walk from the swimmingpool, but seems to be cooler than the apartments next to the pool due to shade from trees and buildings. It is bigger than expected and has everything we need. There is plenty of storage room for clothes, toiletries and whatever you might bring.
When we mentioned that the shower head needed replacement, this was done within an hour.
There are chairs and tables arranged in various places where you can sit and enjoy your food, a drink, the view, the sound of the cicadas or just life itself. The owner is obviously trying to keep a nice garden with many different trees and flowers, roses in particular, fish in the basins, and a handful of peacocks wandering around. The garden was suffering a bit from the lack of rain this summer but was still nice.
We booked a wine tasting and tour around the vineyard. In all honesty, we had expected a bit more in regards to information about the place we stayed at. The guide was nice but his English could be hard to understand. The wines we tasted were very good. We were offered no snacks with them. That being said, the tour was for free (or included in the price) for staying guests.
Would love to go back!
