In the warmer weather, the resort is very close to the north entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Shenandoah Valley with hundreds of miles of nearby hiking trails, fishing streams, lakes, waterfalls and horseback riding. There are more than a dozen wineries, distilleries and cideries within a few miles of the resort for the less athletic yet adventurous adults.
