There is also an adjacent bridleway giving access to many picturesque walks including The Ridgeway National Trail and the Thames Path. The wider surrounding Chilterns is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with many picturesque villages. Goring village has its own local Railway Station approximately 30 minutes walk away (1.45 miles), although a car is strongly advised. There is no taxi rank at the train station. The Old Stables is within walking distance of public houses/restaurants, shops and services including food store/newsagent, chemist, gift shops, cafes, cash point etc. There are several National Trust and Country Houses within easy driving distance, with Basildon House within walking distance.
