The Nightingale is a quaint and updated cottage located in the historic village of Bayside, Maine. This seaside village was founded in the early 1800's and serves as an idyllic respite for those who long to be near the sea. This unique and tranquil getaway will soothe your soul.
The space
This seaside cottage is truly one of a kind, and has been updated to provide all the amenities you need while still retaining the warmth and character of the village.
The Nightingale has a fully functioning kitchen, eat-in dining table, living room and master bedroom with king sized bed and reading chair. Lots of shelves to store all the reading material you could need.
Living Area:
Cozy up on the couch to watch Message in a Bottle with your significant other on the 55 inch smart TV where you can easily log on and access all your streaming accounts (Netflix, Hulu, Prime, Disney). Sit in one of the oversized chairs and read your favorite book or listen to your favorite tunes on the bluetooth speaker. The kitchen includes stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, toaster, coffee maker, cookware and plates. Coffee filters provided. A starter set of paper towels and toilet paper will be provided.
The door off the hall will be locked during your stay. It is the closet where we store personal items and supplies.
Bathroom:
There is a full bathroom off the kitchen. It has a walk-in shower and complimentary toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap and hair dryer) as well as towels.
Bedroom:
The master bedroom is located upstairs and includes a cozy swivel chair for your reading. There is a king sized bed with pillows and upgraded mattress to provide a place for peaceful slumber. Linens are provided.
Back Porch:
The wrap around back porch is the best place to enjoy your morning coffee. It is completely covered. There are comfortable swivel rocking chairs as well as an oversized egg chair.
Front Porch:
The front porch provides a sliver view of ocean. It is uncovered and has a dining table and charcoal grill. Cook some steaks and dine al-fresco!
Parking:
There is one parking spot to the right of the front door.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire cottage with the exception of the downstairs closet and third floor loft.
Guests will receive a door code to access the cottage prior to arrival.
The neighborhood roads are narrow, please drive slowly and watch for oncoming cars.
While The Nightingale is not located on the water, it is just a short stroll down to the rocky beach and wharf.
Other things to note
While The Nightingale is a peaceful retreat, you are only a 8 minute drive into downtown Belfast, 12 minutes to Lincolnville beach for sunbathing and 20 minutes from downtown Camden. You can quickly and easily get into town for shopping at the boutiques, grabbing a beer at the local brewery, booking a sailboat ride or hiking Mt. Battie. We also highly recommend making the 1 hour 20 minute drive to Acadia National Park. In addition, the cottage is minutes away from The Bayside Store, The Hoot Restaurant, The Scone Goddess, Downshift Coffee, Hannafords and several tasty dining options in Belfast.
