Lloret de Mar is 80 km from the trendy Barcelona and is famous throughout Europe as a cosmopolitan coastal city with a bustling night life. However, the memories of the past combine pretty well with the delightful sandy beaches. Lloret originates as a Roman settlement, the remains of which can be seen even today. Highlights of these architectural treasures are the church of San Roma, the castle of Sant Joan and the various chapels in the area. Between the various coastal towns along the Costa Brava is a connection by boat. There are also a number of other towns and beaches you could visit. But we recommend Blanes; it's a beautiful boat trip along the rocky coast of Spain. You can also see the botanical gardens of Marimutra in Blanes. Here you'll find more than 3000 different kinds of plants. Videres, 15 km away, is another great authentic Catalan villa which has not yet been discovered by most tourists, allowing you to mingle with the local population. It has a beautiful church in the centre of town around which all the shops are located.
