Set in the lovely hamlet of Elterwater, this stylish cottage with modern fittings, is the perfect property for couples or family with older children. Townfoot Cottage is located in the corner of a small courtyard, with a fine country pub just a short stroll away. There are many lovely walks on the doorstep, including one leading past a fantastic waterfall on the way down to the popular Chesters restaurant and fascinating shop.
The cottage itself is cosy and welcoming. The state-of-the-art kitchen is fitted with granite worktops, Neff and Bosch appliances and comes complete with its own super view. Townfoot Cottage's sitting room is the perfect chill out spot, with two leather sofas, an armchair, slate hearth with wood burning stove, 42" TV and solid oak furniture. Plenty of space for everyone to kick back and relax.
Upstairs are two luxury bedrooms, both with king size beds, Egyptian cotton bedding and divinely comfortable mattresses. Each room has plenty of storage and wardrobe space, as well as cushioned window seats for watching the sheep go by. The family bathroom is tiled throughout, with luxury shower over the ample bath.
Elterwater itself is only a short drive from the busy village of Ambleside, the shores of Lake Windermere, Hawkshead and glorious Coniston Water. The perfect location for a special Lake District celebration or special holiday now also with complimentry access to Choices Health Club in Troutbeck Bridge.
Often referred to as Great Langdale, to distinguish it from nearby Little Langdale, Langdale's name comes from the Old Norse for 'long valley'. Langdale is a u-shaped valley formed by glaciers. It encompasses the two villages of Chapel Stile and Elterwater, as well as the hamlet of High Close. Set in the centre of the Lake District, Langdale is probably best known for its mountains, from the Langdale Pikes – a group of mountains on the northern side of the village – to England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike. Rock climbers will also love Raven Crag, Gimmer Crag and White Ghyll. There Not surprisingly Langdale is also famous for it's spectacular views, including Dungeon Ghyll Force Waterfall, Harrison Stickle and Pike of Stickle. it is an extremely popular holiday destination and loved by hikers, climbers, fell runners and lovers of the outdoors in general.
