Nearby, the town of Amble which is reputedly ’the friendliest port’ has a working harbour, marina, Sunday market, fish and chip shops and plenty of varied amenities. Alnwick, with its famous castle featured in Harry Potter and Downton Abbey, is only a few miles with cobbled streets and famous water gardens with a spectacular grand cascade, and the worlds largest tree house restaurant should not be missed. Warkworth is on the main Heritage coastal route which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and from here you can enjoy some glorious unspoilt beaches and rugged coastline.
