The beautiful family-run farm sits atop its own hill, overlooking the Merse river valley. The estate is spread over two thousand acres of land covering fairy tale woodlands, fantastic cypress avenues, holm oak and cork oak trees, fields of wheat, barley, sunflowers and maze, and groves of 3,000 olive trees from which a delicious DOP extra virgin olive oil is made. Each farmhouse has been renovated in great detail, the style, décor and charm of Montestigliano make it a special and unique destination for a wonderful, enjoyable and most importantly memorable holiday. The farm offers traditional Tuscan cooking classes and olive oil tastings, starlit dinners, pizza feasts and in-house private catering or massage services. While the surrounding area presents numerous opportunities to go on peaceful strolls in nature, taste typical dishes at local restaurants, go horse riding or on bicycle tours, visit a local market, relax in a hot spring or take an afternoon dip in the nearby river. Or you can enjoy a day trip to the seaside ending with a plate of delicious fresh fish, and of course, let's not forget the region's multitude of local wineries offering an exquisite array of wines from both the areas of Chianti and Val d'Orcia, to be samples alongside a platter of local cheeses and cold cuts.
This magnificent 17th century Tuscan farmhouse is situated in the beautiful woodland of the Siena hills, high on the crest of the estate of Montestigliano, only a few kilometres south of Siena and within easy reach of the Chianti area, Florence, Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano, Montalcino, Montepulciano and Pienza. A perfect holiday retreat in the heart of Tuscany, where the rustic features of original Tuscan farmhouse architecture are combined with elegant and eclectic interiors. The rooms have exposed beam ceilings, limewashed walls in soft colours and terracotta tiled floors, with touches of modern Italian design in the fireplaces, bathrooms and outdoor features. Steps lead down to the garden and park, and immediately below lies the "infinity pool" with a travertine terrace that blends into its natural rocky environment. The villa sleeps up to 10 guests in 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
The adjacent barn, which originally housed the sheep and cows, has been converted into a beautiful self-contained apartment (approx. 108sq m), making a perfect companion to the main house. Decorated in a more contemporary style, it is light and airy with an open plan design, providing accommodation for a further 4 guests. The entrance opens to the upper floor mezzanine which leads to the two bedrooms each with en-suite bathroom. An open staircase leads down to the light and airy living area with fireplace. To the left is an open plan dining room/kitchen with a pantry/laundry room to the rear. Two large glass doors open onto a paved terrace for 'alfresco' dining with views of the surrounding woodlands, so typical of the rural Sienese countryside with its centuries' old oak trees, at whose feet truffles and Porcini mushrooms make their home, amid olive groves and fields of wildflowers where whole families of deer graze undisturbed.
The villa complex sleeps up to 14 guests with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms. All twin beds can be made into double beds.

From sampling our very own olive oil and learning how to distinguish the different scents and flavours to having a relaxing and revitalising massage in the comfort of the Villa, the options are countless. The local area offers numerous activities, from gentle strolls through the woods, guided horse rides and bicycle tours, a wander through a local market or shopping outlet or a dip in a steaming thermal spring. Numerous traditional restaurants located in and around Siena offer typical Tuscan dishes served alongside fantastic local wines, and of course let's not forget the multitude of renowned wineries, where visitors can sample a vast array of fine wines from the areas of Chianti to the north and Val d'Orcia, Montalcino and Montepulciano, to the south, to be enjoyed alongside rich platters of local cheeses and salami.
