Nearby you can visit Cragside House, the home of Lord Armstrong on the outskirts of the town, a beautiful National Trust visitors’ site and walkers can visit the Simonside Hills for exhilarating rambles. Cyclists will appreciate the proximity of the Sandstone trail stretching from the Scottish borders to the Peak District, with convenient bike storage available back at Highbury. Rothbury is ideally located for exploring the nearby villages, set on the edge of the National Park with easy access over to the Northumberland Heritage Coast (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). The National Park can be easily reached, and Kielder has a host of water sports.
