On site, the friendly owners run Ferny Rigg Alpacas, the first licensed alpaca business in Northumberland, and the property’s kingsize bed features a luxurious alpaca duvet!
The views from the cottage guarantee a relaxing break whether a short break or a week stay, a different experience awaits, with fresh eggs often available from the owners’ hens. Merry Burn Barn also offers free use of ¾ mile of single bank fishing on the North Tyne (guests must have own fishing license).
Merry Burn Barn is ideal for those wishing to either escape for relaxation or for true adventure seekers wishing to explore the many activities around Kielder Water. The area along the water offers kayaking, sailing, fishing, walking and mountain biking with regular events throughout the year.
