Located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in the village of Carperby, is this traditional semi- detached stone cottage, complete with sloping ceilings and with views out to Penhill, it is a picture perfect property. Ideally suited for a small family or couples walking break, this cottage is decorated throughout in classic country style with floral wallpaper and wooden furniture, it has an immediate homely feel. Featuring an electric fire, the sitting room is the best place to get warmed up on those chilly winter evenings, so you can snuggle up on the plush red sofas and talk over the day's events, or maybe watch a film on the TV before going to bed. Venturing into the open-plan kitchen and dining room, you can make use of the modern appliances like the stylish electric oven and induction hob, amidst the quaint cream painted kitchen units, with a lovely solid wood dining table and chairs in the corner. Moving upstairs, there are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, both charmingly decorated with bright airy colours and floral wallpaper for the ultimate cottage feel, along with a stunning vintage bathroom suite in excellent condition with attractive pink and blue tiling. To the outside there is a small garden and patio area with some pretty seating, for those summer evenings when its warm enough to sit out with a glass of wine, or maybe a local ale you've picked up along the way. The village itself is at the heart of the walker's paradise of Upper Wenslydale, and offers a pub serving food, a village green and a children's playground so you don't need to go far for the essentials. If it's your first time visiting the Yorkshire Dales why not join one of the many guided walks going on all over the area, to ensure you see the best sights there are to see, or drive just under 30-minutes to Richmond Brewing Company to taste the ales from the dales with a guided tour of the brewery which was Richmond's former railway station. Situated close to well-known Aysgarth Falls and the impressive Bolton Castle - which dates back to 1379 â€" the idyllic Wensleydale village of Carperby is set within excellent walking country. During the 17th Century this charming little town was an important centre for Quakerism. Today, the largest building in the village is still the classically styled Friends Meeting House, which overlooks the market cross and village green. There is also a pub serving good food as well as an excellent range of amenities in the nearby market town of Leyburn. The villages of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale are both easily accessible from Carperby and make for lovely days out whilst the surrounding countryside provides a wealth of walking and cycling paths amidst the charming scenery. Visitors can also enjoy excellent bird watching in the area.
