Travel Purpose: business

Positive: The bed was comfortable, and the staff did make an effort to attend to most of my complaints and requests, except never getting the tv in my room working. Location was also convenient.

Negative: The check-in was stressful to say the least after long international travel. Firstly, I was booked into what was meant to be self-catering, but on arrival at the destination there was no-one to open up, even though I arrived at the designated check- in time and building and the outside of the so called rooms was filthy. Across the road just happened to be Hotel 247 which I went to and was relieved to find someone at reception who informed me that actually I was meant to be checked in there. ( Not true, as this was a so called "hotel" and not self catering). The shower had a loose strip under the door which one could have cut oneself on, and I had to get a staff member to rip it off. Tv never worked, and the first night from 3am was woken by what sounded like some kind of a machine( I thought it sounded like a washing machine, but staff told me it was the ventilation in another guest' s shower(?)). General areas of "hotel" dirty, saw lots of cigarette ends lying around, and there are renovations under way. Maybe not a good idea to list on Booking.com until they have their act together. I would definitely not stay there again and cannot understand how this place had a 10 rating when I first booked it.
